Besides, Consumer Reports can only be trusted for 80% of the time :) BTW, I believe DC21 is NOT the first canister model, Dyson had DC11 (European) model for a long time. I have a DC17, and it is the best vacuum I have ever used, and perhaps the most aggressive when it comes to agitation (even more so that my old Rainbow). Besides, they have yet to rate the DC17, DC18, or DC21, which would fare much better than the older DC07 and DC14 due to their more aggressive brush rolls. Only drones live by Consumer Reports like its the Bible. If you look at the ratings in Consumer Reports they are NOT at the top of the list even for suction power. You can find a much more powerful vacuum at a much lower price.
