Electronic USB Wind Instrument: Go Ahead, Pretend You’re a Real Musician
by Nicholas Deleon on March 9, 2007

The electronic wind instrument USB is a testament to the human inventive spirit. It looks to be a cross between a flute and a clarinet and plugs into your PC’s USB port. There, software instruments let you “rock out” (with a flute?), creating musical pieces that I’m sure Mozart would be envious of. All of the keys on the flute are touch-sensitive, so you won’t have to deal with actually pushing any buttons.

It used to be that people learned how to play actual instruments when they wanted to become musicians. Nowadays, just stick a piece of plastic into a USB port and you think you’re Eric Clapton.
