Gucci Phone Fake Because I Say So

On March 9th, Engadget Mobile fabricated a charming story on a Gucci-branded cellphone. After looking at the above-left picture for about 45 seconds, I realized it was Photoshopped to all hell and back and is never going to come out. Ever.
I mean sure, with the recent announcement of that iPhone rip-off LG Prada phone, one could easily imagine the fashion house of Gucci coming out with a phone for every girl who’s 17 and drives a 2007 Range Rover. But check it: If the Gucci cellphone is being released, then so is my YSL phone. It features GSM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 (with EDR!!!), a 2.0-megapixel camera that does video, and features exclusive YSL content. Now that wasn’t so hard. Oh wait! I forgot the release date accompanied by disappointing news!
“The Yves Saint Laurent cellphone is currently only a prototype and we have no plans to release a device at this time.”
Case closed. Perhaps some gadget sites should stick to the fax! Too funny!

With shoddy “reporting” like this, it’s little wonder that your services were terminated at the two real gadget blogs, Vince. Ever think it could be bitter, poorly-written rants like these which helped tank your career? Grow up already.

Fake because:
1. The Gucci monogram is incorrect.
2. Gucci’s style guide dictates no product displayed without a model.
3. Gucci’s style guide dictates the print logo never to be on the bottom left. It’s always on the bottom right.
4. Gucci’s style guide dictates the print logo to always have at least a quarter inch space around it. That tagline “mobile phone” intrudes on that space.
I used to work for Gucci and am quite familiar with their strict branding guidelines.

Funny about the LG Prada phone, its detailed info was released far ahead of the iPhone and is in no way a copy of the iPhone with vastly different looks on the menu system etc but generally features the same build. Still some ill-informed people do not check the facts and call it an iPhone ripoff… tsch.
If your looking for an iPhone ripoff you should look at the Meizu phone, they had it in the works already but when the iPhones info was released they went overboard and changed their original design as much as possible towards the iPhone.

How can you call the Prada phone a rip off when it was developed and released before the i phone?

I wonder what handbags are of better quality - Gucci or Fendi? What’s your opinion?
