CrunchGear’s Geek Travel Contest by Crumpler

It’s that time again again, the triumphant return of the Reader Response contest format. This time it’s a contest in conjunction with our Travel for Geeks feature series and, as always, there are some fabulous prizes.

What kind of prizes you ask?

Between now and Friday we’ll be giving away three Crumpler Bags worth up to $120 each. You can select your own bag. If you’re not familiar with Crumpler, it’s time you get with the program. Crumpler makes some of the nicest bags on the face of the planet. Its packs are virtually unbustable* and are made with absolutely stellar quality and attention to detail.

So now you know what’s on the line, here are the rules. We’ll be monitoring the comments thoroughly until Friday at 5PM EST. The three most intelligent, intriguing, insightful, and otherwise compelling commenters between now and then will receive a Crumpler Bag of their own choosing (up to $120 as I already said). Make sure to use your email address in the commenter info login. Comments without a valid email will not be considered.

We’ll announce the winner sporadically over the next few days. And don’t forget to pay Crumpler a visit to say thanks for generously contributing its fancy wares to our quaint little Reader Response: Geek Travel Edition.

* May not actually be a word — but it should be.

travel, *sigh*, well the problem is there are so damn many neat things to take with you. i’ve been traveling with a laptop for years but just recently got a Palm t/x with wi-fi and a portable keyboard that works for a lot of what i do, and a Nokia E62. so now i have to wonder can i realy on the Palm and the phone or do i really really need to lug that laptop with me. or maybe i just need a smaller laptop?;-) the i can take them all along with my ipod.;-) takes me *forever* to get through security, mostly unloading and loading my pokets and belt.;-)

Unbustable, like ya mamma!

Everyone loves a ya mamma joke.

Seems both the Crumpler links are broke and busted.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary (the only actual real, dictionary, as Webster’s is for pansies), “unbustable is not a word.”

A search on Urban Dictionary was not completely futile though, it yielded this:

1. orgasim - a faked climax, a simulated orgasm
“Fred’s nut proved unbustable that night, so he decided an orgasim was the best way to conclude the night’s lovemaking session”

I don’t think there is any bag which can be suitable for my needs. I looked into the porporta gadget bag, but it resulted in disappointment. I carry plenty of devices, all of which I use regularly. I have a Dell Axim, HP jornada, iPod, Fon wireless router (with a 5v batt), Grundig Radio, DS lite, Krazr cellphone, and tons of flash storage. I need at the very least a dedicated cellphone and PDA pocket. I have yet to find a bag which has those functions. The only thing that came close was Maxpedition, their Thermite VeriPack is great for gadgets but nothing else. Sigh.

Out

Haha, thanks James.

Looks like the site is up, and man, those are some weird sound effects. I was typing away at my local Panera bread waiting for a friend to show up, and i had my sound kinda on loud, everyone around me turned and looked…

Thanks CG, improving my day in more than one way.

Gads, I love Crumpler bags. If I was a woman I’d own a bajillion purses. But as a man, that’s not really as socially acceptable. So I have to own courier bags, backpacks and their ilk. And I can never have enough. I’m the only guy at the tech conference who is GLAD to get yet another cheap bag. Shoulder bag, backpack, courier-style, even the dreaded wheelie-backpack that makes every line twice as long because everyone feels compelled to roll them around instead of just carrying them for some reason.

Please, please give me a crumpler bag. I’ll love it forever. Or for a while at least.

I have 2 crumplers - the 4 million dollar home for my camera and The Maurice for my daily carry crap. Love’m! If it didn’t drive my husband nuts - I would have tons more!
