CG Surfer Edition: Reef Sandals Stash Your Booze And Bills

Fanning’s (who is currently #1 on the ASP tour), which were my prized possessions last summer so I figured the DRAM would be my next purchase. You can store your booze in them! The polyurethane encapsulated canteen is in the heel and it needs the church key to get it open. The key also doubles as a fin key, you know, for your surfboard fins. What could be better? I’m glad you asked because the ladies are getting the real goods with the Stash. It has a pull out drawer in the heel so you can stash your keys, credit cards, money or condoms. The DRAM and Stash retail for $45.

  • Ive got the fannings as well – great little sandal. Id be worried about these bursting open with heavy use and spilling the good stuff everywhere.

  • Haha, I love my Fanning’s too. I can’t say I’ve ever gotten anyone to pass a bottle over to me for me to pop up with the bottle opener, but it’s a nice gimmick on a pair of great sandals. As for the “Dram,” I’m not so sure I’d trust the alcohol I’ve been keeping stored in my sandals for several weeks for the “time I had to have a drink.”

The Stash sandals is a pretty cool concept for flip flops, but I’m also not to sure about whether or not I’d actually leave a couple Benjamin’s inside my flip flop heel. Or my ATM card or house key for that matter. I wonder how weather proof that secret storage area is…

I can’t wait for until the travel security agency at every airport to ban flip flops from planes now (directed towards the Dram).

  • I have a pair of Crocs that make everyone jealous. Sure they have no fannings, Dram or Stash functions but they look awesome.
I’d be a little worried about the Dram either getting sand or salt water in my booze; and while I’d never use the “Stash” I can see it as a good thing for pool side at the Vegas Hard Rock. Easily keep your credit card and room key with you at all times. Brilliant!
I do wish that Reef would combine their awesome design of fashion flip-flops with the features of their functional flipflops at somepoint.

  • This is one of the most ridiculous pair of shoes… you can imagine what would happen if your shoes start leaking with soda in them. Sticky feet?

The stashing of valuables is a much more useful application for these.

  • and you cant say no to their calendar. mmm-mmmmm!

  • If you were really a Californian you’d know that Rainbows are far superior to Reefs. Reefs are so 1990’s.

  • @Tamar

I don’t think these are for soda.

  • @Ryan: The other drinks are just as sticky. :P

I’ve been a hardcore Reef fanboy for a very long time. I don’t like change, but if I were to make the switch to leather flip-flops I’d get a pair of Rainbows. I get the synthetic one’s because I wear em to the beach and wet leather get slippery.

  • ArchPort sandals are much better than these. They have a removable wallet feature that you can actually use while you are wearing your sandals. The Reef’s require you to take off your sandals just to get the drawer out – and you will need your pliers.

  • I bought the Drams and they leak very, very bad!

  • Havaianas are my choice of flipflops. Although I guess any flipflop that can carry your credit cards and cash would be good for travelling or leaving on the beach while you swim..

  • for the potheads…go with the stashes the heel is perfect size for a half track, and one hitter, and the pigs will never check there=)
