I don’t own a car anymore and rarely drive, but when I do, I usually just listen to NPR because I don’t have an iTrip/FM Transmitter for my iPod. But there’s only so much Fresh Air and Marketplace a man can take. So I’m thinking about picking up one of Proporta’s new Wireless FM Transmitters. You just set your radio station, plug it into any device with a headphones-jack and you’re good to go.
It should also be noted that this device greatly resembles an old-school NES controller. That coupled with easy operation makes this a winner in my book. It doesn’t ship until April 4th though, so you’ll have to wait a few weeks before you can snag one. It’ll set you back only $25 too, making it one of the cheapest wireless FM transmitters on the market.

It may slightly resemble a NES controller, but it also appears to be a blatant rip off of the Belkin TuneCast FM transmitter: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=140984
Haha, wouldn’t you say it looks a bit like the old Belkin Wireless FM transmitter for MP3 players too Vince?

Yah beat me to it Michael.
On a side note, I’d like to say I almost prefer these types of FM transmitters to the iTrip or the extra bulky charging dock + fm transmitter + latte maker + plug into your car to jump start it things that are out there now. First off, they run off their own power (I think a triple A battery), so they’re not sucking juice out of your already worn down iPod battery life. Another benefit that I see is that whenever I use my iTrip, I always have to fidget around with my iPod before the iTrip recognizes that it is plugged in and actually starts transmitting. With these, you just turn them on and they’re ready to go.
