With CTIA in full effect and John full of Captain Morgan, phones are being released and announced every few seconds it seems. The latest batch includes two new LG clamshell-style phones: the VX-8700 and LX-570. The VX-8700 is part of the “Shine” series of phones LG has been working on and includes EV-DO, a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, microSD, and all that jazz. It also has a brushed aluminum case to match your Macbook Pro perfectly.

Lastly is the LX-570, a black music phone that features touch-senstivite playback controls, EV-DO, 1.3-megapixel camera, FM radio (nice), microSD, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, and a “sleek design”. Verizon customers, look for these sometime this year.

  • The LX-570 is bound for Sprint, not Verizon. Sprint LGs sport the “LX” model designations (compared to “VX” for Verizon) and this looks like a direct follow-up to the LG LX-550 “Fusic” music phone that sprint released a few months ago.
