I bought the EX-Z75 for $65-quite happy with it.

It seems to be capable of taking RAW files via a hidden service mode.

Did you consider that the shot of the outdoors was out of focus? Considering that the photographer is responsible for focus, it looks like the shutter was depressed and the shot was focused on the gazebo.

If that gazebo is sharp, don't blame Casio, its engineers or its R&D team....PEBKAC, to borrow an IT phrase..."problem exists between keyboard & chair." Ambient light conditions, ISO and focal area all play into where & how much of an image will be in focus.

Thanks for posting such a detailed review of both the pros & cons, I just wanted to comment on this one [perceived] con.

Yes, this is a good camera. My best friend has the EX-Z60 version and is in love with it (and she's picky.) I'm going to order the pink version.

I bought it for the size and convenience. My regular camera is a Nikon FE, which was too big for my latest trip. The Casio did a great job for me. Anti-shake works great on mine -- check your programming. Yes, scenery shots were a bit muted, so I fixed them after download. I am getting some fabulous photos with the Casio. Getting oohs and aahs from family and friends, which tells me it works fine for me. While I don't disagree with the review, consider the Casio for size, convenience, and ease of use. Cool camera. Even my mother could operate it -- a miracle.

I am shopping for a new digital camera and there are two that I am considering right now. the Casio Exilim EX-Z75 is one and the other one is Pentax Optio M30. There are not many websites that have reviewed the Pentax as indept as the Casio. Do you have any advice on the Optio M30?

I'm totally agreed on Vince's comment. Please do not buy this model. I have bought this camera and really regret on it. The pictures are blur and the anti-shake function is not functioning at all ! My old konica minolta with 3.2 MP done better than this !
