I agree. I traded in my Aston Martin for a ‘96 Ford Escort the other day by this same methodology. Way more Fords sold than Aston Martins…must mean Ford is better.

I hope these numbers are for the US and not worldwide because that comes out to a console production rate of 8.3 consoles/min. Even if you say that the numbers are for the U.S. and the U.S. recieved 40% of the consoles made, then that comes out to a 20.8 console/min rate. I would think for an automated production facility a rate of 30-45 console/min would be easily attained.

Personally I have a Wii and have only played is sparringly since launch. My PS3 however gets much more use. I’m sure my Xbox 360 will get played more also as soon as I get one.

Wow, I’ve never seen such a deliberate headline in gaming news for the next-gen console war thus far. “Wii Outsells PS3 and Xbox 360 in February, Must Mean It’s The Best”…are you serious? Yes sales show the Wii is still strong, but the Xbox 360 has the Wii and PS3 outsold still. Until either of those consoles pass the 360 in total sales, don’t pop any victory corks. The Wii is actually slowing down. Lack of killer game apps are strangling the Wii’s overall appeal. The low price is the only point that’s really driving sales at this point. I agree there are some great games on the way, but they aren’t here yet. Super Smash Bros and a new Mario Kart will surely rope in some great reviews and fun gameplay. But the question you gotta ask yourself is “have the people who are going to play those games already made their console purchase?”

If so, sales will go down dramatically in the year to come. Plus with the 360 seeing some really big-hit potential titles in 2007, the Wii and PS3 might be left in the dust. It’s still too early to declare a true winner, but my vote is on the 360 at this point. Best online support, best community, best games, and fair price make it a good choice. Plus the Elite will appeal to high-end content users and drive a sales spike in late April. Don’t expect a repeat of February’s numbers, at least not in April or May.

Xbox will win. Microsoft will buy out the game devlopers and nintendo!!!!!!!!!!

Time and Time again we have this argument……
lets wait a year and see what happens…….Look at the DS for example, sales went up, then down (for 5-7 months) then up, then back down, and with the DS lite its sky rocketed ……..ok so lets look at that and see if we can actually predict whats going to happen here……..there is multiple similarities that can be drawn between the DS lite and wii, and many that can be drawn between the psp and ps3… (ill leave you guys to it). but its hard to know what will happen.

lets see; the ps3 is a 7-10yr console. it was stated at last E3 that nintendo planned to have a new console released in 2011 ( 5yrs time from initial release of wii)……the wii is already successful for its 5 yr sprint till the next 5 yr sprint….. sony has a 7-10yr cross country so its likely that sales will be slower. lets give it time and see what happens its likely it might come out ontop in 5 yrs time, but the market would be shifting again….. saying the console is set for the future is also abit out, i mean look at DVD changes in the last 2yrs, that could happen again in another 4, and bam, the crosscountry is stopped midway, whilst the sprinter is already finished and ready to start a new race…. concidering this, whilst the ps3 is the latest tech now, it wont be next yr, or the yr after that.

now who said fun ever evolved? its just the same old same old…….and if you dont believe me, look at the DS - graphics enough to get the point accross, abilities to allow good gameplay….then fun……it did take time for good aps to come out, but word goes round and the console picks up again. as for the ps3, if the best graphics and games are comming out now, wont that make it harder to beat in the future?……. there is so many ways to make something fun, but how many to make it look better and more enjoyable? sorry ps3 but a computer can do it too, and its upgradable……neat since most technologies are surpassed within a year or 2……

you might say that ps3 is better than a computer, i suggest you look at the nvidia 8800 GTX and new power sup with a decent set up….sure it might cost $1500 AU, but note that next year graphics cards drop $200-300 a year (plus other parts respectively) , so this upgrade for a normal pc could drop to 1200 AU (over estimation) , this card allows the comp to be better than a ps3……..so, spend 1200 to upgrade pc or buy a ps3 with 2 games for 1400AU hmm, plus computers allow aditional components to be added, and they can handle h264 1080p video , the only thing they dont have is blue ray. but market analists believe that in 2 years that blue ray will be worth investing in, and also by this time blue ray drives for computers are placed to be only $200Au. makes sense to only pay when its needed. people say that the ps3 is a cheap blue ray drive……..why not say that the others are expensive. the reason its cheap is because the cost is not in the drive, but in the processor power to read the video from the discs. Most computers can do this already and the blue ray drives on the market are set to be $200Au within two years. so the ps3 blue ray is not really an issue or compliment to whether it is a good console or not. it comes down to content.

so far the ps3 has not sold enough consoles to endorse its game production costs thus deterring game companies. each games costs upwards of millions US, some mention even billions (hard to believe) . either way, as it stands the console was not going to prove a profit to developers even with its original sales predictions till a year after launch. now its looking a little longer. not only that but because of the huge costs in producing, where is all the small developers come in?……..xbox 360 aint a cheap boat to jump on either, but note its about half the cost to prod for 360 than ps3, and the wii its close to about a 20-40th of the cost to produce for ps3. and its not always the mainstream EA, activision….etc that grab the crowds.

i wont say more, but ps3 has alot to work on. that doesnt mean i dont want it round…..i certainly do, when consoles compete it makes them better, not in hardware like it is at the moment between ps3 and xbox360, but in games. that is when you will see who truly takes a lead in this generation.

i think i had more, but i let you all ponder this for abit.

does this not show to u that the ps3 is being compared to a computer not even other consoles! if u ask me then ps3 it truly the best console!
