No, no, no. That Cingular guy was testing the prototype of the “3G” iPhone that will be out in 20 years from now. Man, have you ever use a 3G phone, it sucks up the battery in seconds. ;)

I hope that battery is LOT smaller. I don’t believe the 40 minutes but regardless of the actual battery life I doubt very much that it will be magically long and not being able to slip another battery in is incredibly lame and possibly pretty disasterous. I don’t know anyone with a smart phone that doesn’t have a 2nd battery.

Excuse me if I’ve missed this in an earlier post, but I thought the iPhone (according to Kevin Rose on DiggNation) was supposed to launch with a dual battery setup that separated powersourcing for the phone functions from the iPod functionality. Was this “rumor” determined to be bogus?
