Apple TV Free-for-All
by John Biggs on April 6, 2007

I’ve been following the supposed Apple firmware anti-hack updates and I’m glad to say my refusal to post fifteen things about how Apple is against the hax0rs was validated by Engadget and a few other folks. In short, Apple doesn’t care what you do with your Apple TV — or any device, for that matter — but don’t come whining to the Genius Bar if you brick your junk.

It’s common sense: Apple TV does not depend on any service offered by Apple, unless you count iTunes, and they don’t make any money off of the stream of data going into the device, again unless you count iTunes. In short, the Apple TV is just like an iPod or a PDA or a PC — crack away, young pioneers.
