iPod Saves a Soldier’s Life in Iraq?

An iPod saved a soldier’s life over in Iraq, or so the story goes. A picture of a destroyed iPod showed up on Flickr with a message saying that it was destroyed in a firefight between a U.S. soldier and some Iraqi miscreants. Supposedly an AK-47’s bullet tore through the soldier’s handy dandy iPod jacket pocket, where Apple’s little portable media player stopped the bullet from going through all the way. (Good thing it wasn’t a nano.) Word has it that Apple found out about the soldier’s ordeal and want to replace the iPod for free. How nice of Apple.

  • You think that’s all? watch my ipod, i wear it every day as neckless, first i threw it a few times against the wall, than throw with a rock on it, and some other things like setting in fire that not really worked.. i made some holes in it and put an screw in it, that looks awesome:P Ipod nano 2 gb 149,99 euros.

  • This is bullshit…Apple doesn’t replace destroyed ipods. Mine got taken out in September of 2007 by an IED attack on our Stryker. I wrote to them, sent them pictures, and they calmly explained that they weren’t allowed to replace it.

Probably because they are sympathizers with the insurgents

  • Apple works with satan.
