Official PlayStation Magazine UK Will Pack Blu-ray Discs in Upcoming Issues

Readers of the UK’s Official PlayStation Magazine can now look forward to getting a shiny Blu-ray disc with every issue. From now on the Sony-blessed mag will include a Blu-ray disc that has first- and third-party demos and lots and lots of other multimedia “content,” possibly including the user-generated kind. I guess this is just another feather in the cap of PS3 supporters. I mean, if you have a PS3 and all.
Can we just skip this whole dumb format war and transition to Internet-based distribution already? That’s the real future.

I’d like to see Blu-Ray do well just because it is (imo, with pricing aside) the better technology. However, you’re dead on about the internet based distribution being the future! *sigh* Format wars suck…

Funny you should say that, OPM in the USA has been discontinued. Sony reckon everyone will use their PS3s to get demos via Internet connection.
Ha!

Well it sucks if you dont live in the UK. I bought this magazine, and my PS3 doesnt support the disc because of the region differences…..coaster time….
