The Ultreo toothbrush is amazing. It is easy to use, keeps my teeth and gums healthy. I can actually feel the clean difference using this tooth brush. You have to try this to experience how clean and healthy your teeth can be. Every time I use it my teeth look like and feel they have been professionally cleaned at the dentist office. I am just waiting for my next check up from the dentist..I am sure they will be amazed at the difference. If you have a problem with plaque build up by using Ultreo it will be a thing of the past. Great product!! I am buying one for my sister, my Aunt and suggesting this to friends. The best price is at www.realtoothbrushdeals.com. $116.99 Retail is $169.99. I will use the saving for gas money!!!!!

I have used the Sonicare toothbrush since it's launch several years ago and when the Ultreo was made available to dental professionals I wanted to experience first hand the difference, if there was any. As with the Sonicare, I purchased an Ultreo at a professional discount. If you want it for free, talk to your relatives, maybe they will buy one for you as a gift. Sonicare provides a 30 trial period, Ultreo provides a 14 day trial period for dental professionals to use their respective brush and return it for a full refund if the dental professional is not satisfied. Check out this information at their respective web sites, don’t believe me. I will tell you of my experience momentarily.

The research available from the Ultreo web site, http://www.ultreo.com/web/home/dental-professionals/clinical-research/ , is typical of Sonicare or any other company wanting research done on their product. See the Sonicare research at http://www.sonicare.com/dp/clinical_studies/default.asp . You do not suggest research that will make your product look bad. In fact you suggest research that makes your product look it’s best. In the research listed on the Ultreo web site there is only one comparison in which other power brushed are included, in all the other research articles the Ultreo is compared to manual toothbrushes or none at all. All the research is duplicatable, double blind, accurate research. In my professional opinion this makes the results favorable biased toward the test product, be it an Ultreo or a Sonicare. To fairly compare brushes the Ultreo needs to go head to head with Sonicare, Braun, and other powered toothbrushes simultaneously. Otherwise your are comparing apples to figs. It will be interesting to see if Sonicare will commission any new research comparing their brushes with the Ultreo. If you have difficulty understanding the technicality of the research, make a copy of it and take it to your dental hygienist or dentist.

For the past 18 years I have been involved in helping people save their teeth. The cause of the red, swollen, bleeding gums, the loose teeth, teeth so loose dentists determine there is nothing that cam be done to save them is germs, bacteria! It is simple, reduce the amount of germs to a level conducive with healing and the body takes care of the healing. Our office uses a phase contrast microscope to determine the types, numbers and activity level of the germs in the mouth that cause all the above listed problems. My experience with the Ultreo toothbrush was positive. It works to remove deposits and keep my mouth feeling professionally cleaned. Did I check bacteria? No, I’m not a research scientist. And even if I did it would be considered just another persons story. So if you want to have teeth as close to professionally clean as you can, get yourself an Ultreo or Sonicare toothbrush, they are leaps and bounds ahead of their competition. Which one of them is better? More research is still necessary to determine that.

Professionally yours,
Gary, RDH

Having worked in the dental profession for nearly two decades as a dental hygienist, I am, of course, excited about any advance geared to better home care and prevention of oral disease; however, caution is the word here. I'd love to see 'independent'and 'duplicatable' 'double-blinded' studies on this one...it would be some time before I would endorse it. Trying it free of charge would help...after all, we're the ones who usually recommend/sale them to our patients. I heard Ultreo is not given free trials to hygienist, only to dentists...that deters me from even promoting them!
Just being honest,

Thanks Blake! There's also the "Rotadent" but it may not really fit into the same category of readily available consumer electric toothbrushes. I think you're supposed to get it from your dentist directly.

However, the rotadent is advertised as only being able to get 92% of plaque in the first minute of brushing. Seems the Ultreo Super Toothbrush may be the superior product...
