I am willing to bet most of you didn’t know there was a HaptiTouch 1.0 or even HaptiTouch 1.7.2.3.8. But this video will fill you in on all the details of this magical touchscreen interface made with more than a half-dozen patents, and you will be set free from your ignorance. True, this marketing movie seems a bit dated, but F-Origin, the company behind all the technologies, exists very much in the present day and has the following features ready for ODMs and OEMs to put in your next mobile device:
HaptiTouch Features:
* Force-sensitive touchscreen that can be programmed to provide different
responses based on touch force
* Touch surface may be any color and can support any design
* Shape and surface independent: the touch-sensitive area can be
irregular, uniquely shaped or larger than the display area
* Easily implemented as a sub-assembly or fully integrated solution
* Optional variable and programmable tactile feedback
So you see? It’s all going to make your life better.

Looks interesting but im gonna say… NO. Tilting to browse a page um NO, what happens when you are moving and the page goes all over the place not very smart. Tactile feedback is overrated, the interface shown here is BUTT ugly, shall I go on?
The point isn’t the UI featured – they make it clear that it is just an example and they are offering the tech. It seems like it would be easy to get used to the “tilting to browse”. I like the idea better than constantly swiping to scroll. And even if if tactile feedback is overrated (I’m assuming you say this(just because the iPhone doesn’t have it) what’s the harm in a solution that utilizes it?
I agree… I think the technology has alot or potential… and tactile feedback is NOT overrated…. I’d like to hear you say that after you use a touch screen device with the technology.
And regarding the “tilt to browse” feature, devices using this feature would have a button freezing the page (akin to taking your finger off of the mouse so you can read the screen) so that it’s not constantly moving all over the place.
