ubuntu.pngIf you’ve been waiting for the official release of Ubuntu Feisty Fawn, today is the day. The Ubuntu crew have released its follow-up to its Edgy Eft Linus build. In addition to all of the standard Ubuntu features, Feisty Fawn also promises a migration assistant, KVM, easy codec installation, simplified restricted drivers installation, and a Gnome Control Center.

There are a few builds to choose from, including the KDE version Kubuntu. Unfortunately, Ubuntu download servers are being hammered harder than Vince’s mom after a first date at Denny’s. So I guess, just be patient (I suggest the torrent if you can ever get to the download page).

  • Looking forward to getting my hands on this release and seeing how she runs.

  • Meh! Linux/Ubuntu still offers a very mediocre desktop experience burdened with piss poor designed open source desktop applications. Until desktop Linux can deliver the same rich high quality desktop that OSX offers, backed by innovative COMMERCIAL applications (read: no more free open source hobbyist amateurware please), Ubuntu won’t be running on my Mac anytime soon.
