Mother’s day is coming (May 13, FYI), and we’re going to help one of you nerds make her happy. No, we’re not going to help you move out of her basement or introduce you to a real, live girl so she can finally have grandchildren and believe you’re straight. We’re going to give something to give to her.

With help from Cesar over at Zune Insider, we’ve got a brand-spankin’-new Pink Zune, and one of you gets it. A full-featured portable media player might be a little hi-tech for most moms, so we want to make sure it goes to a woman who’ll really appreciate it. That means the geekiest mom wins.

Send us a photo of your mom in all her nerdy glory, and a short email on why her geek abilities means she deserves to win something so hi-tech. There is no word limit, but you must include a picture of mom with her gadgets. We’ll go through the entries and post the top three here, where they will be voted on by you, the readers.

Sound difficult? Listen, if you’re mom is a true geek, she already has a webcam, digicam, HD-DVD burner, and email abilities. Have her sit down with all her stuff and send in that pic.

To enter, just email the above elements to contest at crunchgear dot com with the subject “My Mamma Wants a Zune!” The contest starts now and goes through May 1st, when we’ll post the top 3 for 3 days of voting.

Get busy, you son-of-a-nerd (or, indeed, daughter). If she’s nerd enough, this year she’ll actually get something she’ll use.
