It’s been almost a year since CrunchGear opened floodgates of snark and treachery onto the masses and thus far we’ve been called fanboys, shills, and morons. We can take it.
However, we want to know what you really think. Give us a few pithy comments or send an email to john at crunchgear dot com if you have something private to say. What are we missing? What are you looking for? Why do you read us over all 50,000 other tech websites? It’s time for soul-searching here in the dark halls of CG headquarters, and we want to make year two an even bigger success.

Personally I read CrunchGear because it IS smaller than most other sites. It feels more like a family.
I think it would be cool to have user accounts for commenting though, like Gizmodo. That way it makes it more of a community. Also, an opportunity for readers to submit tips and stories would be nice.
CrunchGear doesn’t update as often as I would like it to. I am addicted to tech news and would like more of it. Other than that I am really happy with CG. I read exceedingly often and would like to contribute somehow.
I think you’re missing the review for the Exilim z1050 =)
(otherwise, I’ll have to write up a more thought filled response after I have time to think)
@ilya, CrunchGear already offers the opportunity for readers to submit tips – check the email address on the “about” right column (top).
And to answer John’s question: I don’t think you are missing anything, I read CG over the over all 50,000 tech websites because CrunchGear is 99% perfect.
Long live CrunchGear!
I think a “Submit Story” link would have some interesting results.
@TG Right on.
I like CG over the two big blogs because they post 90 percent filler with 10 percent of content worth reading. Crunchgear while not as constantly updated writes thought provoking and insightful content. And the contests and frequent reviews of new tech help too.
Ditto the above comment.
User accounts and ratings could be cool.
On behalf of at least one CG writer — thanks!

sometimes you guys are cool, sometimes you guys are douche bags, that is the truth
-your welcome
I haven’t found any of the other sites yet…
Haha, kidding. I’ve only known about CG for a few months, but I check it throughout the day. I don’t know what I like about you guys, it may be the articles you write up (some being funny, others being actually helpful…I like the funny ones), it may be because there are ‘less filler’ articles from the others (I’ll check Engadget every now and then, but only read like 3 articles there from all they post that day), it may be the simple layout (it’s simple), it may be that I’m secretly in love with one of the writers (you know who you are ;) ), it may be the amount of updates you do (others say you don’t update enough, but the amount of time I check ya, it’s pretty good)
So as you can see, I lied. I in fact did have something to say. Yay CG!
Word! CrunchGear is the Shizzle! Whenever I’m avoiding work and I want it to look like I’m actually reading a useful tech blog, I switch the channel over to CrunchGear. But seriously, folks, CrunchGear has some top notch writing, top shelf topical humour AND top of the pops pop-culture references that make me sniggle- that’s value that you just don’t get out of brand “X” tech blogs. I’m not sure yet about where their allegiances lie, but I’m with ‘em, not against ‘em. In fact, I think I would make an excellent addition to CrunchGear’s crack team of cognoscenti; too bad I already have a real job! WOOT!
Keep up the good work, CrunchGear
Sincerely,
Matt in Berlin
PS: Just what IS the CrunchGear mascot? An extra-terrestrial squid-blob? I like it when it goes psycho and shows off its fangs. Or when it BBQs for PSP3 Eyehead and co.
I used to follow all of the big tech sites, but one day I got so fed up that I deleted all of my tech subscriptions – - except for you guys. Two reasons: weekly round-up art and John Biggs. Good stuff guys. Let Engadget and Gizmodo kill each other with a never ending sea of crap. ‘Nuf said.
I only read it to see if that Goldman guy has written anything new. I love his stuff.
Fewer creepy comments about pubic hair in your stories would be nice.
I read CrunchGear for the artwork of Bryce Durbin and the musings of John Biggs.
