Well, at least it is much nicer that the X360 cam! And to the journalist who made this peace of trash news, guess waht, journalism is about inform and not give opinions. I’m tired of M$ wores! Even if this Eye Toy PS3 was the most well designed peace of equipement there would be negative articles all over the web. PS3 will have a next-gen Eye toy cam, a peace of hardware that will be used to enhance comunication between users and play original games by using your movements (no, it don’t needs you to hold a controler like wii), it has been greatly improved and allows you to record audio and video to the HDD of your PS3, many great things will come for sure with this Eye Toy, it’s good to see that Sony is strong in development of new features and accesories for us PS3 howners.
Even beeing not imparcial that I wrote is better suited than your “anti-Sony” crap of text! Go back to school journalism you sensacionalist!

The reason for the bar is the 4 directional microphones that will be able to pick up location by sound. And its a webcam not a freaking belly ring…do you REALLY care what it looks like…function over form when it comes to webcams ya’ll.
Looks like one of those logitech version 1.0 webcams, circa 1995…with a speaker glued on.
I’m sure it does a kickass job, but I like things to look cool!

its not our fault your mind and creativity only takes you that far
and yeah looks are important, but the main thing is what appears on the screen right, that’s where u’ll be looking at 90% of the time, not the ps3 eye so its no big deal seriously, just be glad they even made this invention
