Electrically Sensitive People Reach Out, Tell Us to Cut Back on the Wi-Fi, Cellphones

The proliferation of cellphones, Wi-Fi networks and other devices that emit electromagnetic radiation is causing some people to become very, very sick. Take this woman, Sarah, who for the last several years has been electrically sensitive (self-diagnosed, mind you). She says all of the radiation generated from the myriad devices out there cause her to be sick, nauseous, lose hair, have high blood pressure and suffer from headaches. That almost sounds exactly like a hangover, but whatever.

She’s not the only one who suffers from the disease—which isn’t officially recognized—with communities of other electrically sensitive people being forged online. (Oh, irony.) So the next time you whip out your cellphone or hop on some dude’s Wi-Fi network, just know that you’re contributing to Sarah’s suffering.

  • Yeah and that guy wrapped in aluminum foil who hangs around the elevator of the parking garage needs that shiney suit to protect himself from the aliens who are trying to read his mind.

and what do they mean there is no name for her illness??? its called “Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF)”. It makes sense that some people would be more sensitive than others, just like that guy in the foil is more sensitive to the alien brain reading rays from planet x.

  • I don’t think that Sarah’s mosquito net is going to stop any evil rays, possible a bee if you can find one, definitely a love interest.

  • Correct me if I am wrong… But don’t the sun and earth give off electromagnetic radiation?

  • Anyways, kooks are great. I’ll bet she has an extensive collection of crystals for health purposes, too.

  • ilya,

Yes, and in spite of the distances involved, I would guess that the levels of “natural” EM radiation are probably much higher than any thing emitted by any relatively modern cosumer electronics.

Hell, even plain old daylight is a form of EM if you want to get picky…

  • Having been an electrician for almost 40 years, I was skeptical at first too. But after looking into this problem and testing a subject with the afliction, I’ve come to the conclusion that this a REAL problem. With present technologie we can’t yet fix the cell phone and wifi problem. What we can do as electricians is to study the magnetic fields produced in ordinary residential and commercial wiring systems and work to correct load imbalances and transient voltages that really seem to affect the aflicted.

  • Miguel’s comment was very positive and helpful.
I am suffering from ES – since ‘1991. No help
from Official sources – just denial there is
    any from EMFs.

  • instead of being ignorant of the facts I wish people would be more empathetic and research before commenting. Im having problems taking this in too but after researching it makes sense. I feel bad for people suffering from this.

  • I too suffer from some sort of sensitivity to magnetic fields. When a cell phone is activitated around me my heart beats out of rythum, I begin to sweat, my face turns very red (almost like an anxiety attack.) I have been to several doctors…one alternative doctor did a heart variability test and found that when I was holding an activated cell phone my heart began to beat out of rythum. He said that everyones heart is beating out of rythum when a cell phone is activated near them…his included, therefore, everyones system is being effected by an activated cell phone, only some people are more sensitive, such as myself, and feel physical symptoms. He tried accupuncture to see if he could redirect my energy…did not help. My biggest problem is at night…I seem to pick up on something in the atmosphere…all the cell phones recharging etc….I even seem to be reacting to airplanes that begin flying over our house around 9:30 – 10:15 pm every night…except Tuesday. I know this sounds crazy but Tuesday nights I do not usually experience the discomfort from whatever is upsetting me…humming sound, and a vibration in my house…similar to what I feel and hear when a cell phone is activated. This is not an easy disability to live with…and I have read that this is a documented disability part of the Chemical Disabilities spectrum…and certainly difficult to diagnose as really no one knows very much about it because a such small portion of the population is aware of how much we are all affected. My heart goes out to anyone who is afflicted with a disability that is very real but very new and undiagnosed… I hesitate to tell anyone that I have this and at times suffer unbelieveably when I am at work. My life has become very limited as I can no longer be in enclosed places with lots of people for too long. So, to anyone who doubts…I say please have compassion and respect for those who say they are sensitive…their lives are often very limited from the things them may love and be good at…such as computers.
