I'd like to see Iriver release a larger version of the Clix2 with a 3.5 screen and 32gb SSD. Now that would be something.

One of the best things about the player is its fully customizable UI. People who know how to use Flash can create their own UIs from scratch (custom animations, graphics, fonts, icons, text, etc.) and just drag and drop the SWF files into the "Themes" folder. It's a shame that iriver neglected this fact in the product manual because a lot of people don't seem to know the feature exists.

Some of the user-created themes that are already online are pretty cool.

You mention the cowon d2 at the end of the post but I don't see a review of the d2 anywhere on crunchgear. I checked out Cowon's site but the only info they provide for video is "Moving picture playback" and "Video File up to 320x240(QVGA), 30fps"

I assume this doesn't mean it can play any video file format as long as it is 320x240, or does it?

I am happy iRiver hasn't given up - you have to admit, they are really pushing innovation here, unlike the static iPod - although the iPhone seems interesting, the price tag isn't.
