The reason you see a big push during spring and then it tapers off to nothing is because most lawn mowers are bought in the early part of spring. There is a big push for them at that time to generate sales for the year. This is not like a roomba or some inside robot that can work all year round, unless you live in very select parts of the USA. You can check out the reviews on http://www.bamabots.com for more information. And look at the active user forums there to see how many people are happy with their mowers.

This item works as advertised and I am one of those "invisible" buyers. I am on my second year of robotic mowing and my lawn looks great. Steve over at Probotics.com knows them inside and out. If you want to talk to someone about a Lawnbott, see if you can get him on the phone. He gave me some great advice and even provided some instruction AFTER I already bought it. Happy Camper Here.

These seem to hit the market every "spring" yet silently (and mysteriously) disappear from any news soon after - not sure what is going on with these things... sound great but so far, no buyers.
