[Used car salesman voice] Do you own a Mac? Do you use it to generate Web content, like publish blogs or upload video? Then you’re not alone! A study from Forrester research indicates that Mac users are twice as likely as Dell users to generate such content. Hot dang, ain’t that a hoot?[/Used car salesman voice]
Just over 20 percent of Mac users are said to participate in the generation of Web content. Some 55 percent of Dell users, on the other hand, don’t generate content, post comments or do anything fun. Maybe those Mac ads are right after all.
And what say you, fine readers? Any PC users out there blog like a fiend on a Dell box? I use a Mac and generate veritable loads of content on a daily basis.

I must be an exception – although it’s as much related to circumstances as to OS but I find I am MORE productive on XP then on OSX for some reason… I was on a Mac for almost 12 years and last summer made the conversion to the dark side… so far… things have been rosy… I do miss the widgets BUT the amount of shier software and hardware (at affordable rates) more then makes up for it. All things being the same, I believe they are both outstanding operating systems – I have yet to use Vista though – I heard enough to simply wait till the next service pack hits the streets at the end of the year.

This comparison is horrible considering Dell’s are owned by more people than web content generators. Most people that buy a Mac is looking for the better platform for media, unlike the Dell which is businesses, children, parents, even grandparents.
Dewayne, I have to disagree with you there – Dell workstations (and their competition) are used by a heck of a lot of creatives… every try to run 3DS Max on a MAC (you can’t efficiently btw). Same goes with photoshop etc… macs are FINALLY catching up when they transitioned to Intel but even then… most of the sought after software is still ONLY XP/Vista available… parallel and boot camp (whatever they call it now) just aren’t a viable solution just yet. Hardware is also far easier to find on the dark side as well – I am not a fanboy of either system, I find what is best for me and push it harder then most – but there really isn’t a general comparison to be made.
