Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Audio Notebook
by Vince Veneziani on May 9, 2007

Aside from having one of the longest product names I’ve seen in weeks, this new Creative card looks like a pretty useful little utility for your laptop. If you want some seriously good sound to come from your notebook, better slap this ExpressCard in it. It offers Creative’s X-Fi Crystallizer, which offers stunningly detailed sound that truly lives up beyond the hype of a name. You’ll also find 3CMMS-3D technology and a 7.1-channel module for full surround sound.

That said, Mac users keep looking, ’cause this puppy is Windows-only. It “drops” in late May for a “cool” $106. Not sure why you’d have a laptop hooked up to a 7.1-channel surround sound system either, but hey, to each his own.
