For the past 4 days or so, crunchgear isn't showing up in the Google RSS reader. The number of unread posts is shown, but clicking on the feed to display the posts seems to hang the Google RSS reader.

This problem is only showing up with crunchgear and is not exhibited by any of the 22 other feeds in my Google Reader.

thanks for the input, everyone. I'm HOPING that adding a ping to google reader will improve things, but I wonder if there's something else we can do. I'll keep researching.

All the ones in my reader lag behind by a few posts some of the time (def not all the time). Must be the way google crawls the blogs.

I use Google Reader and it's typical to get 10-15 crunch gear posts all at once. I always thought something was fishy when the last 10 posts all were published exactly 47 minutes ago. This same problem occurs with every blog that I read with GR. I wish that it would update dynamically or that they would add a "refresh" button that actually checks the feeds (rather than Google's cache) like other feed readers.

Google Reader checks every once in a while for new posts in feeds instead of checking immediately when you want to look at the feed. This is so it can cache them for later on Google's own servers, so you can still read it even if the story gets removed from the feed before you get around to checking them. It's normal for it to lag behind by a few posts sometimes.

I've had the same issue. Stories come in larger bunches once or twice a day instead of on a regular basis like with other readers.

That's true... I had just assumed it was intentional that the RSS feed wasn't updated till a certain number of new stories were made.
