I have had my Aio 5300 for two years now and Kodak has just sent me printhead #4. In the 24 months that I have had it I have only been able to use it 6 months total. What a piece of junk. I refuse to buy Kodak anymore, I’m back to Cannon.

I have a 5300 and am generally happy with it–good quality prints and affordable ink. Yes, there have been problems with the printhead every few months, but all I had to do was go on line, go through a fairly straightforward diagnostic process, and Kodak shipped a new [free] printhead that arrived in 3 or 4 days. No call to India required.

I just had to comment on this printer. I have owned many Kodak products and this is the biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased. It doesn’t respond to anything without a problem. When printing photos the color is horrible and ink was just installed, so thats not the problem. I paid $153.00 for this poor excuse for a printer. I have had nothing but problems since I bought it. Save yourself the trouble and pay the extra money for the ink because it runs out really fast. I am getting rid of it and buying a HP or Lexmark. The Kodak name today is not the quality it once was. I will never buy another Kodak product.

This printer is the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned. Like many other faithful Kodak owners, I purchased this printer because of the name. My mother-in-law, my neice, and a good friend of mine also purchased this printer. All of us have had the same problems, documents are faded and have lines through them and pictures look like a very old negative. Now my printer acts like it is printing but the paper is blank. I try to calibrate and it tells me that the calibration page cannot be detected. I don’t have the patience to be on the phone with someone that I can’t understand and who is halfway around the world. This printer should be recalled and replaced for free. DO NOT BUY THIS *&%$^#$% PRINTER.

I believe as many people as their are having trouble with there 5300 kodak printers that we could find someone with professional experience to make them send our money back or sue them for false advertisement. They need get their problems solved and satisfy the coustomers they have stole from. Or go out of business. But I forgot we as Americans think China is the best way to go. It is if . You want to go DOWN THE DRAIN. Look at our economy now due to govermental stupiditty.

Yes, lots. When your cartridge is not detected it normally indicated one of 2 things. Your cartridge is after market and not Kodak brand or its not making correct connection to the printer. Give us a call… we can help… 0870 243 0270…

I love my Kodak 5300. I wish the software didn’t take up so much space on my computer, but I love the printer….I’ve had it for almost two years and this is the first time I am having to replace the print head. Other printer companies that I have had never offered to replace it…they expected you to buy it -at a very expensive price. The customer service isn’t bad when you use there 24/7 online chat. It is still slow, but at least you can do other thanks without needing to use a speaker phone. Hope this review helps! Have a blessed day!

Kodak makes a wonderful door stopper, it can also be used as a giant paper weight on a windy day. As a printer this is a big piece of junk. We finally replaced them in our office with Samsungs so far so good. At least they actually print

Did you know that Kodak has great support, I purchased a 5300 AIO when they first came out and just with some simple maintenance it has given next to no trouble. You probably cannot upgrade firmware because your printer is not enumerating correctly. But what ever… You say no and I say yes. The 5000 series printer was the first of AIO kind for Kodak, you will always get teething problems… Give them a call 0870 243 0270. Try speak with Darren, he gives the best support.

do you mean trying to print/scan/copy a document?

how is print head failure customer misuse.

this is a case of a good idea – inexpensive ink – failing because of poor execution and abominable tech support and even worse customer service.

i can’t believe it took me 6 print head replacements to finally toss mine!!!

I have nothing but problems and poor quality everything from this piece of junk. Its the worst printer/all-in-one I have ever experienced. I bought it because the tele-ad said it not only produced excellent quality prints but would save a fortune on ink. I bought it in 2008 and since then I have one reasonable quality photo and a maximum of 50 legible black-text only (in reality pale grey draft quality) documents from it. Every time I print I am asked to reorder ink cartridges. Now it will not even allow me to install firmware updates or restore it factory conditions. Until I buy yet more ink cartridges I cannot even scan or copy with this horrible pile of rubbish. My advice – if you see the Kodak brand JUST SAY NO!!! and spend your money of something that works.
