It’s bad business news Wednesday here and the latest company to take a hit is Dell. New York’s busybody Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, a friend to you and me, is suing the computer manufacturer for fraud. The suit, which will be addressed in press conference later today, alleges that Dell mislead its customers into thinking they were getting low financing when in fact it was applying high credit to computer purchases. So, saying one thing and doing the exact opposite. The state will also make a case that Dell’s customer service, warranties and rebates weren’t as good as advertised.

I’ve never bought or owned a Dell, but I’ve certainly heard all the customer service horror stories over the years. A step in the right direction, or a man just trying to make a name for himself?

  • I use a lot of Dell equipment. I had some issues at the consumer level, but at the enterprise level things have always been excellent. There APR’s are high, but I didn’t know they ever stated otherwise.
