Giddy as a schoolgirl when you realized a Halo 3 Beta key came with Crackdown? Wet yourself when the Beta was finally released? I’m sure you did. But Beta’s usually have some problems and Halo 3 was no different. Users were having problems downloading the Beta, but an update to Crackdown on Xbox Live fixed that problem. Problem solved, right? No. WTF, why can’t I see text?! Yes, a ‘rare bug’ had been found that was wreaking havoc and causing fanboys to weep and suck their thumbs. This is what you should do to fix that problem.

1. Restart your Xbox 360
2. Boot up the Halo 3 Beta
3. While the Halo 3 Beta is loading, immediately press up on the D-Pad and hold the A button until you see the Bungie logo. If you perform this correctly a dialog box will appear confirming maintenance has been done to your system.
4. Resume the Halo 3 Beta!

Bungie was also nice enough to extend the Beta by four days so you can frag and strafe to your hearts desire until June 10th at 11:59 PM PDT.
