Touchscreens are so last month. Where’s the excitement, people? How about some mind reading technology that will let me be lazier than I already am? I’ll get off my soapbox now and tell you about the LG “Touch Me” PMP. LG’s latest player features 4GB of memory, USB 2.0, a 2.4-inch LCD touchscreen with MP3, WMA, OGG, MPEG4 and WMV9 compatibility. Picture quality is much better than other competitors thanks to the Mobile XD Engine from LG. The MFFM37 (these names need to stop) has 10 pre-set EQ settings and automatically picks the correct EQ setting according to each MP3’s ID3 tag. Look for it next month.

  • The ID3 tag-reading EQ feature is neat. I didn’t really think this was anything new until I read that. It has quite a bit of border space though, that could probably be occupied by a larger screen. Currently my favorite DAP is the Clix2. Very well made device.
