So does anyone have news about SP1 yet? All the articles I can dig up are from January saying it'll be out in the 2nd half of 2007. Well...here we are in the 2nd half of 2007 and still no news? Not even a date? Not to mention the THREE Ultimate Extras they've managed to crank out in the better part of a year. It's been 4 months since the only marginally cool Extra, Dreamscene, was released and that was just a DEMO. Apparently we're still waiting for the full version.

The reason we can't get stable programs for Vista even 7 months after release is that Microsoft is keeping the SDK under lock & key. The only people even able to write programs desgined for Vista are large corporations, and even then the SDK documentation is lacking at best.

Programs out now that do work under Vista work by luck, not by design. I hope this situation improves and that we're not entering the era of applications not functioning under Vista unless their creators get (purchase) Microsoft's "blessing".

Vista's honeymoon is about over, and the "it's a brand new OS, just be patient" arguement isn't going to work much longer.
Uhh dude…you do know that your 7800 is not a DX10 card. Nice to hear all your games are running well but any gain in performance is all in your head since you’re not really using DX10. Sorry.
yah you need at least a geforce 8600 to run dx10 mate

I've been using Vista since February and have very few problems. Graphics card is Nvidea Ge 7800 and have updated two drivers each working very well. I downloaded Directx 10 which works great with Nvidia graphics card and runs all legace and new games exceptionally well. No application problems either. The only problem I had was with my HP 3100 scanner. HP will not provide a driver. Shame on them. Had to buy a new scanner. The new scanner does have a new driver with complete device software.

I hope SP1 suports my 2xSLI 6600GT Nvidia Cards. Hopefully, SP1 can be easily intergrated onto my Windows Vista DVD.

@jucob: Sounds like your main beef is with nvidia for the lack of driver support, rather than Microsoft for the lack of SP1. Both major video card companies have done a really poor job with Vista drivers - you're not alone. :-(

Well Sp1 is really needed... My Vista is for example installing same update on shutting down the computer like for 15th time and they still haven't fixed the problem with force TV-detection on nvidia drivers so no use for vista media center yet.. Hope that Sp1 will fix those problems.

when though. obviously it's coming, but when? i do a lot of development using vista, and i've had so many problems that i've advised many people not to upgrade until sp1 is released. will that happen earlier than this fall?
