Balance Concept: Part Luxury Cellphone, Part Smartphone

It’s both a luxury cellphone and a smartphone, two devices that, apparently, have never been combined together effectively before. Called the Balance by designer Bence Bogar (Hungarian—be gentle), it acts as both a slider and and clamshell phone. When inside a pocket, it takes the form of a clamshell, protecting its two touch-sensitive screens. Whip it out and it slide it around to and fro. It’s in this mode that you can also use it as a digital photo frame.

It runs FakeOS, being a concept and all. And really, when you design concepts, why not go all out? Balance approaches this with a 5.1-megapixel camera, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Factor in 3G GSM/HSDPA and you’ve got a winner. Well, if it actually existed, I guess. Woe unto us.
