George Lucas is giving up suing every organism on Earth and will let fans of all shapes and sizes cut, edit and re-edit a selection of some 250 Star Wars clips to their heart’s content. Well, so long as you play by his rules: no nudity or pornography, which means we here at CG are SOL. Still, I applaud Lucas’ decision to let his uberfans make all sorts of kooky videos.

The program launches next week on Starwars.com. Let the creative juices flow!

  • why edit anything if not for the sole purpose of adding nudity and pornography,
i mean its what gives editors and the internet a pulse

  • This is actually a fascinating decision, since many film makers were recently in an epic court battle against “clean films” companies that edited films to remove objectionable content – they won. They lost against ClearPlay (which only causes the DVD player to skip scenes, it doesn’t physically alter the artwork). Part of their reasoning was that individuals could add pornography if it was considered legal to edit the DVDs.

  • By saying there is no nudity or porn allowed is encouraging people to add nudity.
