Too Bad Mobile TV is Dead in the Water Here: Sharp Aquos 912SH

It’s an incremental upgrade to be sure, but Sharp’s Aquos 912SH cellphone embodies something that’ll never take off here: mobile TV. In the Far East, however, it’s quite popular, making this phone a little more valuable there. It’s got standard-for-Japan features like HSDPA, a 3-megapixel camera with flash, e-mail and Web support and 3-inch 480 x 800-pixel resolution display. For all that mobile TV watching, natch.
It’s weird looking at these types of cellphones because there’s not too much like it here. Are we missing out on all the fun, or is this mobile TV just a gimmick with no real substance behind it?

this technology is inevitable
as long as there are free channels over the airwaves and commercials to go on them for people to watch
