gk3_images_product_104_m.jpgThe CG staff enjoys a tasty alcoholic beverage now and then and with the summer heat kicking in full force this weekend in NYC, we’ll be hittin’ the sauce a little harder than usual (we’ll be using the mixers to stay hydrated, of course). To take the sting out of summer parties — both in cost and taste — check out the Gray Kangaroo Personal Liquor Filter. Invented in 2001, the filter, which is now in version 3.5, takes cheap liquor and filters it so it tastes more like higher-priced booze (e.g. Popov to Stoli).

The device sets you back $29.95 and can filter a minimum of 50 liters of liquor before the replaceable filter is spent. A refill filter is just $12.95 and the GK works on all prepackaged hard liquors such as vodka, whiskey, rum, gin and tequila.
