Accurate review IMHO. I bought this as a pocket carry quick snap outdoors beat it up and throw it away camera. And its perfect for that. Didnt cost an arm and a leg. Its easy to operate even with gloves on. I dont have to wait for it to find all its fingers and toes; I see a shot and take it. Simple. Blog mode? Who cares. AUTO and Macro are all I use and yes I like how it tones down the flash automatically. This is a quick and dirty machine that takes good quality pictures without too much fuss.

>IIRC, Fuji Picture Stabilization is just Auto ISO. Has that changed?

Which can be good: http://www.dpreview.com/articles/compactcamerahighiso/

Panasonic cameras got optical image stabilization, but their sensors produce more noise on iso 100 than the good fuji's on iso 400. They started to use more aggressive/sophisticated noise reduction, so the difference may will disappear slowly.

> I’ve tried a few Fujifilm cameras over the past year and have seen some
> disappointing performances.

It's strange, Fuji has always got at least one good camera in the P&S category.

Nice recommendation. However, the Fujifilm F450 is my favourite. I have had it a reasonable time and have now taken more than 4,800 shots with it producing good all round results everytime.
