OpenDNS Now Keeps Babies Safe From Boobies

Fans of OpenDNS — everyone at CG uses it, I know that much — will now be able to block pornographic sites with the click of a button. The service uses St. Bernard’s iGuard, a service that apparently scours the web for PR()N so you don’t have to. While this might rankle some folks at work, it could be a great way to make sure junior stops with the underpants party at inopportune times or a quick and easy fix for libraries and schools who essentially have to take a zero-tolerance approach to all this. Me? I’m leaving everything on.

I use opendns for reasons other than the filters. I don’t use the filters.

Jan,
We’ve been around a lot longer than scrubit, but OpenDNS isn’t an adult filtering solution like Scrub IT, we’re focused on your overall Internet experience. One small piece of that is giving you the power to filter adult sites, but we also let you browser smarter and faster — and more reliably.
Check out our accounts management area and see what I mean. We give you fine-grained control whereas someone like Scrub-IT blocks whatever they want and you just get that. Previous users of scrubit will remind you of the time they decided to block google.com
