Microsoft is finally doing something about some of the technical problems that plague the Xbox 360. A hardware revision was spotted “in the wild,” as they say, showing an additional heatsink near system’s GPU. A cooler GPU should help solve some of the problems that users have been complaining about pretty much since the system’s release. What’s still unknown is whether or not Microsoft is installing the extra heatsink only in Xbox 360s that were in need of repair or in all models from now.

Now can they do anything about making the DVD drive a little quieter?

  • Yeah, right…. so… How do we know, when we send in our 4th unit to the REFURB SHOP, HACK SHOP IN Mc Allen Texas, if they are putting in the new technology, or are we getting that same old crap, that dies in the first 18 months of use.

I am on my 4th unit, and let me tell you, This unit is only allowed to be used if my son, 1 has his room clean, 2, has his homework done, 3, has not caused any problems like fighting with his sister or some thing, then, he is only allowed to use it for a certain amount of time each week. It is so fun it is addicting. We make him go outside, and play most of the time so OUR 360 is not used much at all, problably about 10 hours a week, and that is an OVER ESTIMATE.
So, we have had 3 and working on our 4th since launch, ? December 2005?, That averages out to 1 every 6 months? How do we know if we get one with 2 fans?
What about addressing the piece of crap dvd roms they stick in the 360? That is what wears out the most. http://www.xbox360defective.com
