After looking at the gamespot review, but not reading what they had to say and only looking at the comparisons…here’s what I have to say.

-The PS3 version seems a bit more saturated and ‘brighter’ than the 360 version (maybe the gamma is just turned up too much?).

-The PS3 version also changes some weird random things (different colored shirts, different shoes, no sunglasses? …I’m still clueless to why this happens, unless it’s random and it changes everytime you play that certain area..makes it more unique?).

-It also seems like in most of the games that the PS3 doesn’t handle anti-aliasing all that well, if at all. (Which is a bummer)

-You can also see things in the background disappear from the PS3 version that were in the 360 version (performance optimization? not sure, isn’t the PS3 supposed to be a beast?)

-Though, also in a few of the games, the player character and/or close up detail seemed a lot more crisp in the PS3 version over the slightly more blurred detail in the 360 version (higher texture sizes?)

-In the tennis game the PS3 version handled shadows a lot better than the 360 version (all characters, player and non-player, have shadows. The shadows also look more accurate. (360 version has double shadows as if there were 2 suns))

-With Oblivion the PS3 textures seem more crisp. (Diffuse and Normal Maps) But still wish it had better anti-aliasing

To sum up: The PS3 seems slightly behind, but there aren’t enough bad things to make it terrible. Everything I mentioned ‘wrong’ with the PS3 version seemed so little that it wouldn’t mess up your gameplay.

Also, comparing the same game for both consoles isn’t really a fair way to show what each is capable of. Each console has it’s perks, as well as it’s downfalls. If a company can produce one effect in one version, but can’t in the other, they probably won’t use it at all. That why ports usually suck. Those titles that are exclusives to a certain console are the games to drool over. Because those are the games that will utilize the console’s power the most.

And you like games like, Gears of War, Dead or Alive 4…Which console do you feel would serve you better.

I am thinking of getting out of xbox 360 and moving into the ps3.

i dont understand these cross platform comparisons, i bought my ps3 for its exclusives and likewise, my 360 for its exclusives, deciding on which, oh i dont know, mlb 2k7 to buy, i look at only one thing, i rent both, if i like the motion control, i buy the ps3 version, if i like the way the 360 one feels i buy that one, i would never buy one side crossplatform game forever, take this for example, i bought the ce of spiderman 3 on ps3, why
? the motion control hoverboard is tons of fun, but i bought fight night on 360 because the rumble adds that little extra umph, i dont know, its all personal preference i guess

there is a ps3 pad with motion and rumble now cheap and its no bigger than it was before not like the crappy cheap add on after thought style crap xbox has.

From my point of view, I think xbox 360’s graphics are little bit better. Look at the textures and other details. Almost all the 3rd party games looks better on 360 than ps3. I think maybe it’s because it’s hard to program 3rd party games on PS3.

in a few months when the second batch of ps3 games come out, it will be much easier to decide this

look, arguing about these minute graphical differences is pointless, the ps3 has no titles right now that make it worth buying, plain and simple. resistance fall of man is the only highly rated title it has that is not available on the 360 (motorstorm and dIrt are pretty damn alike). ps3 had some great exclusives coming up (ex: assassins creed) that microsoft got their hands on somehow. the 360 offers exclusives like gears of war, dead rising, saints row, ghost recon A. W. 2, rainbow six vegas, and guitar hero just to name a few. not to mention upcoming blockbusters like bioshock (if you haven’t heard about it do yourself a favor and go to ign.com to check it out) and a little title called halo 3. i loved the ps2, and was so excited about ps3’s blu-ray capabilities and graphic power i thought i would piss myself, but it’s a flop. don’t waste your money.

who wants to play a game thats been out on thew shelves for 12 months already? Xbox 360 is the better console, i have both and it has: better games, better graphics, better gameplay, looks nicer, and is cheaper!

Hands down the Xbox 360 is all around better. So far all the games I have played are amazing! I would buy the 360 just to play Gears of War. Playing G.R.A.W and Rainbow Six with friends on Xbox Live is hard to top. I have played on my friends PS3 online and it sucks! Even he hates it and is going to get a 360. He THOUGHT it was going to be the better unit and the PS3 offers online for free. And it should be free because it is not even close to what Xbox Live offers. Xbox Live is only $49 for the year. That’s $4 a month and it is great! Sony thought they were Gods of the video game market. They waited to long and the price of the units were too high. That’s what they get for being so cocky. Now Microsoft owns the market and Sony is forced to lower their price. They screwed them selves. Just wait until Halo 3 comes out and Sony will be hurting even more. Their are more Halo 3 pre-orders than PS3’s sold. I hope Sony get’s their crap together because I like competion between company’s. It makes company’s work harder to give us better products in the long run. But right now Xbox is kicking Sony’s ass in sales and games.

hey i seen this shit 360 vs ps3 o! not make ps3 fans mad but when the ps3 came out i though it will be better because of the blue ray and more space but the graphics, i am not saying their bad but the 360 defely kill the ps3 in graphics plus the 360 has better games just gears of war does all the job and just wait a few months when HALO 3 comes out, the beta version was really good and that was just a little, the orinal graphics will increase like 3 times, so ps3 get ready cus a ma trow a plasma granade to it, well if the ps3 continues like that, if they dont inprove the graphics and make better games forget it give microsoft the blue ray cus they will know how to use it.

The Xbox 360 wins. Because The Ps3 is More Brighter than the Xbox 360. The Mlb Baseball tons of different then the Xbox 360, The Ps3 Crowd looks Blury and Lighter, But Still Realistic. The Xbox 360 Mlb Baseball looks so real even The Crowd. The Crowd from Mlb Baseball for the Xbox 360 looks not blury. The Ps3 version from Oblivion looks kinda the same like the Xbox 360, Just different light Collor. The Xbox 360 version from Oblivion looks so real. Because The Collor looks realy cool.

Now let’s talk about the Ps3 vs Xbox 360.

Offline means that your playing your self

Online means you play ps3 live like Xbox live

The Ps3 has good games, but the graphics looks Bright. The Ps3 has offline for playing for your self. Online is to play with your friends online. I hate the Ps3. Because the Ps3 is 600 Hundred Dollars, That actually sucks. Because in Offline for the Ps3 is kinda boring. The online for the Ps3 Still Sucks. Because The Ps3 has no Mic to talk to your friends, That still Sucks. I hate playing online with No mic to Talk to your friends. I have no Great games, not even Resistance fall of man. That game sucks. The Ps3 is a 1 out of 10.

The Xbox 360 has Some Perfect Games with Perfect Graphics for The Console. The Xbox 360 offline is really fun, Because I play the Xbox 360 Sometimes doing the weeks. The Xbox 360 cost 400 Dollars, But thats Really Fine, Because I got the One with four Wireless Controllers. I got 20 something games and they all rock. The online is sweet, Because the Xbox 360 has a mic to talk to your friends doing a online Play or have a Private chat with your friends that rocks. I love all the Games that I got for my Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 is a 10 out a 10 Perfect.

Ps- The Ps3 Needs help. Because The Ps3 Freez ups, Glitches, Freez ups a lot.

Pss- Sorry I didn’t talk about the Wii Because its really really Boring by playing by your self, The wii has no online means it sucks. 7 out of 10.

Psss- The Xbox 360 is the best console in the World.

ps3 wins with out a doubt,i have both consoles and the ps3 shits all over the xbox, haha sayin that i am never of the xbox BUT stil think that the ps3 ’s GRAPHICS are much better. ok on the odd game on the xbox the graphics seem abit better than the ps3 but lets get real that wont be for long, once the game manufactures start to use the full pontential of the ps3 these little debates about which console is better will be over. It seems pretty obvious… the 360 currently has THE game selection and if you prefer LIVE online play then its no choice and you will like the 360 much better. But there are other factors in a home entertainment system. As for price, at $600 the ps3 is CHEAPER than the 360. For that price you get wireless internet (+ $90 on 360), blue ray (HD + $200 on 360 for 720p HD - not 1080p), 60 GB drive (only 20 GB on 360). And now at least Sony has temporarily dropped the price down to only $500 and then will offer increased HD capacity and free game for the REGULAR PRICE - not like MS that hasn’t dropped the console price after 2 years and milks you to death in the name of upgradability. And what about all those 360 consoles going bad - everyone I know that has a 360 has gone through 3 or 4 of them in the past 2 years. The Elite should’ve been a replacemnet for the premium 360 at the same price - not $80 more. But of course it IS black - just like the ps3. MS has shown that money in their pocket is all they care about and depend on LIVE addicts to sell their products. Most of the people I know own 360s and spend most of their game time on LIVE but I am going to pick up a ps3 because MS is too arrogant in their pricing - choosing to make people think its cheaper when it actually costs hundreds more than the competitor and offers less. The games will improve over the next year on the ps3 and surpass those on the 360 at some point. It is good a US company gives Sony some competition but how many times will MS have their customers need to buy new upgraded consoles in this GEN just to keep up? Maybe next year’s 360 will have wireless built in. Maybe the 2009 360 will fix the dead console problems. Maybe the 2010 360 will have 1080p. By then the 360 will go for how much with all those improvements… $799? If PS3 online evolved to comparable levels as LIVE then there would be no reason for anyone to buy an overpriced, flaky system like the 360. The number of units selling does not indicate which system is better - it only indicates how easy it is to take advantage of the gaming consumer.

i have both systems it looks to me that the ps3 has a brighter future sure it had a really bad start but you guys aren’t looking at what potential these machines will have in the future. right now the 360 is kicking ass, with kick ass games with kick ass game play. now don’ get me wrong i’m not saying the 360 doesn’t have a good future i’m just saying sony will hold up on the long run.

graphics wise, again the 360 wins hands down right now. when gears of war hit it raised the bar on graphics no doubt. but what you guys are forgetting is that gears of war is running on the unreal engine same as unreal tournament. don’t you guys think if gears of war hit ps3 it would look real close if not identical to its 360 counterpart, of course it will just give epic enough money to find way for gears to work on ps3 and they will. i don’t know if you guys remember but when 360 hit the games look like ass, so stop comparing games as sony is only on it’s first year. start comparing 3 to 4 years from now as games will continue to elevate in terms of graphics and game play.

jacob above does prove a very good point i’ve spent a lot of money already on xbox live and bought the hd=dvd drive(don’t ask me why) it seems to me i’ve spent close if not more than a ps3.

let me go back. as for comparison for multiplatform games………….yes some of the 360 games do look a little better, but that’s just it ” it looks A LITTLE BIT BETTER” come on people do you really even look at the people in the background in a baseball game or in any game where the background is just “eh” again i say wait 3-4 then compare.

I’ve been hearing and seeing on forums that people have been disputing about which console is better, PS3 or 360? I cant understand to be honest?

Its obvious to say the PS3 is the clear winning due to its hardware just one of the things being the blu-ray disc capicity stacking up to more than five times the space of what the 360’s disc’s can hold.

At the moment, though it isnt really possible to see any difference between the 360’s and PS3’s graphics e.g ghost recon 2, but i can asure everyone that as time gradually moves on and developers are able to harness the power of the PS3, we will all realize that it is the must have next generation console.

The only reasons i can think of as to why people could possibly belive the 360 to be the better console than the PS3 is because they are comparing launch titles and multiplatform games, or the reason that i am vouching towards is simply, that as they are unable to afford a PS3 they want to defend the 360 console they have been stuck with.

Would have, could have, should have, might have, is gonna have…So what? All we have to compare are the games that are out right now, and the clear choice for ACTUAL GAMERS is the XBOX 360, I don’t see that changing anytime soon, blue ray capacity or not.

Just get the console for the games, not the graphics! Don’t let anyone fool you into beleiving false numbers. They are there as a marketing scheme (because as people tell other people they sometimes round off the numbers to higher numbers). As for all you people who have PS3’s stop being so bitter and simply ignore the over protective fanboys. As for the future of graphics, I’ve heard so many phrases being tossed around like “harness power” and “XXX% potential is being used”. It’s pretty silly. Simply replace the cosole names with chicken brands and you’ll see what I mean. You’r arguing about which restraunts serve bigger more healthy chicken dishes when they’re all being farmed at the same place! One other thing, comparing the graphics of launch games to well developed 6 month old games is a little unfair. Resistance looks good but Gears of War looks better. Perfect Dark Zero looks good but up-coming PS3 shooters look better.

How can some of u guys say the pics are fake? on what basis? All i know is that ps3 has no games (zero) and will have no notable exclusive titles besides the ever so popular ever so lame turn based rpg final fantasy series that everyone besides me loves. Most titles the consoles share are ported from the 360. Yes Sony worshippers, the ps3 is technologically more advanced(but u cannot say the 360 isnt a top notch console either), but for now the 360 has alot more to offer with its breadth of games and online capabilities. Stop defending your ps3 purchase by bashing the 360, knowing that all it is right now is a trophy to show your friends. Give 360 a chance for now, u might be pleasantly surprised fanboys…I’ll buy the ps3 when the time is right, and its gonna be newer than yours. By the way, everyone i talk to brags about the blu ray, do you really want to play movies and wear out the bd drive on ur ps3? The external HD-DVD for 360 is highly criticized, but hey, if it breaks…ur 360 is still intact. Oh, and i love the PS controller, hated the the original xbox’s…but the 360’s are great, exept for fighting games, the buttons stick out too much haha =P

fyi microsoft is putting a shit load of money to fix some the 360 problems.
they may have a year lead from ps3 but this issue will set them back, don’t believe me do your research. as far as wearing down the bd drive on the ps3 all you need is to put down 50 bucks for a 3 year warranty. if you can’t afford a 50 dollar warranty then you don’t need to buy a ps3.

those two pictures are the same the only difference is the the 360 pic the fans are wearing glasses and the the mariners logo is more visible on the 360. here’s a question - if your playing the game would you be able to tell something so minute if you played both versions.

you idiots of course the 360 gonna have more games it came out earlier. i have both systems and i’m sorry to say i have been cheated out of my money i mean for all you 360 owners if you thought that 360 had exclusive games that’s BS they will all go to the PC and with or without extra content.(probably even look slightly better, depending on what you have on you PC) so instead of buying a 360 just put some parts down on your pc.

MS fanboys are saying PS3 have to WAIT for great games cuz SONY is lagging. Well what happens when a 360 breaks down (which is ocurring more than ever) I’ll tell you wut happens you mail your 360 and WAIT (i don’t know how many business days) which will then be fixed or give you a new one (yeahhhhh!!!!!) but here’s the thing they don’t really do shit to the machine you know why because 6 mos. later the same thing will happen. the reason i know this because it’s happened to me and many other gamming consumers as well. this and other factors are wut persuaded me to go wuth sony t i use to be an MS faithful not no more.

it depends, for instance if your a heavy FPS type game and like your system to BREAK WITHIN THE NEXT 3 MONTHS, then buy a 360. However if your a more diverse gamer and want to discover a plethora of games go with a SONY PS3.
