Uh, Damon has got to be an idiot. Oh no wait! He needs to make a living sellingn books to Dummies who buy a stupid iPhone! Nevermind. Of course he's got his fingers jammed way into his ears about how lame the iPhone is turning out to be. Maybe I can get an N95 in time to take VGA videos of people waiting in line for an iPhone, then send it with GPS data embedded to my Blip.tv account while I map my way to a cold beer.

Will someone tell Damon Brown to STOP INTERRUPTING?!?!!

Seth has brought up some really significant lapses in feature sets that will be troublesome for the gen1 iPhone. Damon retorts that this device is directed at mainstream consumers, but the problem is that the main demographic of mainstream consumers for paying for phones are teens, tweens and college students and business users that heavily utilize those missing features like IM, MMS, etc. At $500 for these youth and business types, it could be a real disappointment and make major negative PR ripples through the social networks and blogs.

I'd love an iPhone (not on AT&T), but will wait until a later generation can work out bugs and make more enhancements to the device.
