Safari For Windows Tops 1 Million Downloads In 48 Hours

safwinmil.jpg

Despite its problems, more than 1 million people downloaded the Safari Web browser for Windows in the first 48 hours of its availability. Apple claims that the browser is the fastest in the whole wide world, but I’ve read a few reports online that suggest otherwise. (Plus, having used it on Mac OS X since its original release, you definitely get the feeling that there’s something “not right” with it, like its lacking something. And it seems to run slower than Firefox on my system; that’s all I care about.)

So congrats to Apple on this milestone. There’s still some ground to make up in its competition with Firefox and Internet Explorer and some Windows users appear to be militantly anti-Apple (why the hate? It’s a dumb company), but ’tis a good start nonetheless.

Not hate, just alot of people tired of being told something is better when it clearly is not.

Make that 999,999, I already uninstalled my copy.

When someone, such as Mr Jobs did, puts so much hype behind something (especially if it’s free) of course a LOT of people will want to try it out for themselves. I’m sad to say I was one of them this time.
FASTEST?? on whose computer. Apparently not mine.
About half the people who downloaded/install Safari have probably already uninstalled it.
