We’re filing this one under insane, creepy, interesting, telling, and WTF. You’ve possibly heard of the WWE murder/suicide of the week, featuring popular WWE superstar Chris Benoit and his family. Yah, it’s not gadgety, but it’s about Wikiepedia, and if you like, then you’ll love!

Chris Benoit is a pro wrestler. Christ Benoit was a fan of anabolic steroids. At some point over the last weekend, Chris Benoit strangled his loving wife and smothered his young child. After killing his family, Chris Benoit hung himself with his own weight set in his garage. No, really.

Many are assigning his bout of psychosis to a condition called “roid rage”, wherein users of steroids go nuts and kill loved ones. Jocks rule.

What’s interesting though is the unravelling mystery behind Benoit’s Wikipedia entry. Just prior to the discovery of the murders, Chris Benoit called his bosses at the WWE and told them he wouldn’t be able to wrestle in a match due to familial problems. WWE said that Chris Benoit told them his family was sick. That was good enough for us, and good enough for the fans. But that might not be what happened.

Chris Benoit’s Wikipedia entry was edited 14 hours before the bodies of his family were discovered by police to say that his wife and child were dead. That is the creepy part you were waiting for. The IP address of the last edit to his entry comes from Stamford, CT, the same hometown as WWE’s headquarters.

The conclusion isn’t hard to jump to: WWE knew that Chris Benoit was about to or had killed his family. If true, then the WWE, the bastion of all thing legal and sane, is complicit in covering up the murder and suicide of a family in Atlanta, GA. We’re hoping the law does not find this to be fact, but things look bad for the WWE.

The moral of the story: Don’t edit Wikipedia entries. And use proxies. Thank you.

  • This guy murdered his wife and 7 year old son in addition to killing himself. Do you really think it’s funny or cool to put up his picture with a snarky and sarcastic overlay? You guys really need to grow up…

  • Um….CN isn’t a state…..CT is…..and I’m not sure I understand the Christ references.

  • yeah matt thats a little much.

  • I agree, this post went way over the line…tasteless.

  • 1) It’s already been revealed that this was a matter of terrible and unfortunate coincidence.

    2) The text overlay on this picture is in extremely poor taste, and it should be removed. It’s difficult to take you seriously if you treat serious subject matters so blithely.

  • Extremely sad. Have to agree that the picture is a bit much, though the news about Wikipedia warrants further investigation.

  • Get over it, you jackasses. The guy was a lunatic, and deserves to be mocked.

  • chiris i feel bad every fans is feeling bad thanks

  • 1)Eddie guerro
    2)Vince mammon

okay listen you stupid jerk nobody even knows what really happened i mean its not like we can just put in a quarter and call god and ask him what really happened! you act like you would know everything that happend but it makes no sence cuz he had TWO sons so if he killed Daniel what happened to his other son?? i bet you cannot anwser that! its not like he would just say to his other son “just stay there while you watch me kill your mom and brother!” you retard, so nobody knows anything only God, Jesus, Chris, Nancy, and Daniel really know what happened! And you ought to be ashamed of your self, putting this rude and un-grateful picture on here! I beleive that it should be removed RIGHT NOW!! Your a jerk! And im not the only one who beleives he didnt do that to his family so does my cousin and alot of other ppl i know. I didnt start watching wrestling until Eddie died and i REALLY REALLY wish i could of seen him wrestle i would’ve loved to watch him wrestle but my cousin did! shes been watching wrestleling since SHE WAS 4!! And i beleive her when she says that Eddie never would of killed him-self, she beleives he was murderd and i beleive her cuz i’ve seen Eddie wrestle but only on myspace videos or wwe.com videos and thats it but i know for a FACT he wouldnt of killed him-self! O & this picture is so rude it makes me wanna cry even more then i already have!!! I’ll never forget my cousin calling me crying saying “omg Chris Benoit is dead!!” and i started crying my eyes out as soon as i heard her say that so you tell me how do you think this makes other ppl feel?! =/ I cant beleive some1 could be so much of a jerk to put this picture on here!!!!
