Signal Software Allows iTunes Control From iPhone

A new piece of software from Alloysoft now allows you to control iTunes, Winamp, or Windows Media Player via the iPhone. It’s called Signal and it works using WiFi to send, well, signals to your computer over the ‘net to control playback of your music and movies. Live updating is included so you know which song or video is currently playing if you’re not near your computer. Plus, the iPhone interface looks really slick.

Sounds perfect for controlling the tunes during house parties. It costs $30, which is pretty expensive for such basic software. The PC version might be worth it to some, although I’m not too sure why anyone would buy the Mac OS X version. Doesn’t the included Apple remote do the trick already?

Salling.com makes a much cooler app for this. Their Clicker softer provides all sorts of cool iTunes tricks.

Like for us half deaf grudge era flanel wearing fools, Clicker will mute iTunes for a call.

no the clicker does not the do trick… the clicker works as a remote control… like your tv you have be looking at the screen both for the clicker to work and to see waht you’re doing… my phone is always with me… i wake up in the morning i can reach over to my phone and turn on some music throughout the house without getting out of bed, controlling the itunes in my macbook on the floor below… since my phone is always with me makes sense to use that not carry around a remote with me also (even if it did work without line of sight)

you see now?
