Speaking of Germans and cellphones, today we learn that the HTC Kaiser is indeed coming to the US-and-A, courtesy of AT&T. Why the carrier is hogging all the high-end phones is anyone’s guess; we see them diluting their upper market with iPhone competitors as they try to cover every base, but whatevs.

The QWERTY-sliding Windows Mobile 6 smarty should hit sometime next month, which is fairly soon for a rumor of this nature, but we’ll see. What we like about it is the 128MB operational RAM and the 3-Megapixel auto-focusing digital camera.

No word on pricing yet, but expect it to be around $500 with a plan at launch.

  • Linked site blocked at work… this phone looks a lot like the Cingular 8525 I wanted before but decided to wait on…. should I get this one? Peter Ha help me!

  • The Kaiser is the Hermes 2, it’s a lot like the Hermes (8525) but with 128MB of RAM, Built-in GPS, that neat slide/flip up, and the auto-focusing camera. With the progress the Official ROMs have made for WM6 this should be the device to have. (Not that WM6 doesn’t still suck…but it does suck less now)

  • I’m sorry everyone is linking to this joker who actually has no better idea than the next guy. Unbelievable! Tomthegeek site does not cite a source!!!
