PS3 Outsells Xbox 360 In Japan 2:1

“I can’t go for that (no can do!)” is probably ringing through the heads of Microsoft execs right now as they look at Japan’s Xbox 360 sales. Though Nintendo’s Wii is still selling strong around the world and is outselling both the PS3 and 360, Sony has the edge in the land of the rising sun/tentacles. According to Enterbrain, a Japanese gaming mag publisher, Sony sold 1.01m PS3s in Japan between launch back in November of ‘06 and July 15th 2007. The Xbox 360? Not so hot. Only 420,705 units have been sold between December 2005 (Japanese launch date) and July 8th.

So basically, the PS3 really is the best console ever, at least in Japan. Sure, the Wii is outselling it, but I bet it’s collecting more dust than the PS3! Looks like the Japanese really have their minds set when it comes to video gaming. Stick with your roots, but show your elders some respect.
