eBay can be an interesting place. You never quite know what you’ll end up getting when placing a bid. This is the case of one British teen who bought a Playstation 2 off eBay, only to receive a package full of $90k worth of euros stacked inside. Talk about an awesome freak accident, considering the teenager only spent about $195 on the auction.
But like all things good, a problem arose. In this case, it was the kid’s parents. They contacted police (bummer) and handed over the money so that its rightful owner could be had. If no one claims the cash by September 22nd, the kid gets it back provided the police aren’t jerks. Wonder if he’ll buy a PS3 with the cash…

As much as I would have hated the thought of turning the money over to the police, I’d be more worried about having some thug come over 2 weeks later asking for his 90k.
Now, if no one signed for the package, he could have just left the sender negative feedback and said he never got the package. You know, play dumb now…get shot later. Whatever.
Why oh why did his parents go all moralistic about returning 90K to some drug-dealing/counterfeiting/thieving person? NO ONE keeps 90K in a playstation unless it is for smuggling. Perhaps someone was supposed to intercept the package along the way and missed the drop? Seriously, the thieves won’t miss it, don’t give it to the police to mess around with it for years.
Somehow I doubt the drug dealer is going to approach police to get his cash back, so the kid will get it eventually.
