Presenting the BSOD Tattoo

I’m not sure why anyone would want to get this tattoo, but someone did. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for geeky tattoos (I’m considering a 20-sided die somewhere), but this is a Windows BSOD (Blue Screen of Death, n00b). I don’t understand. Maybe it’s pro-Windows, maybe it’s anti-Windows, or maybe that abject confusion is the point? Either way, it’s hardcore for hard coders.
Readers: If you’ve got geek tats, post photos in the comments to this post, I’m way curious.

Was the tattoo’s error code picked for a specific reason? It appears its two references are to multimedia related applications. One for CivCity, one for Origami.

The titel of this post is incorrect: it’s the ‘Skin-toned Screen of Death’.
Or does it turn blue when the guy has an internal failure himself?

I would loose it laughing if this was the “Dude, You got a Dell” guy … or maybe it’s the window guy from the mac commericals … either way this guy is “special” and I mean in the Olympic sense.

I’m still hesitating, but I’m considering getting a tattoo on my upper right arm of what I call “The Circle Flower”, which you can find at http://www.geometricvisions.com/music/
To draw one, draw a circle with a compass, then stick the point of the compass on the perimeter of the first circle and draw another one. Then stick the point of the compass at one intersection of the two circles and draw a third circle. Keep going around until there are six circles total on the perimeter.
Then color in the petals inside the middle circle with red, yellow and blue. If you’re drawing this with ink and paper, use felt-tip pens for the colors.
It’s kinda hard to explain, but this pattern has held deep significance for me since I was a child. It was known to the ancients, and can be found carved in stone in many places in the ancient world, for example at the Taj Mahal.
The fact that the infinite plane can be tiled with this pattern expresses to me the perfection of the Universe

most recently, i’ve been featured on mtv and spiketv because of my awesomeness.
anyway, enough bragging - onto the tattoos.

just snapped that with my webcam - i touch my left arm for temporary invincibility.

i designed this tattoo - the background is the legend of zelda shield, the rest of the stuff you probably recognize. the meaning of the tattoo is the first hand is a human hand and the second hand is a ghost hand, meaning when youre dead you can still play the game, hence “legends never die.”

you can see my nerd life tattoo across my stomach and “dg inside” - thats digital gangster for all you n00bs - http://www.digitalgangster.com keep it treal

This might be a stretch, but perhaps the guy got the tattoo as a commentary on humanity. This choice of body art makes a failed computer part of him. Perhaps he feels we’re turning into nothing more than emotionless machines that are incapable of functioning. It’s time we start accepting tattoos as a legitimate art form and discuss them as such.

Don’t have any myself, but I know someone who has tattoos of the main races’ logos from eve-online, i.e. caldari/amarr/minmatar/gallente, possibly the jovians too.
Myself I think I’d prefer the guristas logo… :D

I’m guessing he went in drunk, showed the artist a snazzy pic on the pc, which crashed shortly after. The artist did what he was told - copy the screen.

At least he didn’t get a giant “BLUE” screen on his back or something.. still it makes me wonder why someone would do this…
I have a Debian Swirl for my geek tat. It was changed to be in blood red and black and kind of add a swirl to the inside of it too. it looks kinda different but I like it and get comments on it all the time.

I can understand it on the back, shoulder etc, but this large and taking up your whole arm just does not look good to me.
Though geek wise I have thought about some small ones on my arm, I keep going back to the Klingon design, nice and easy. Maybe a UFP/arrowhead symbol

Great windows tattoo. But I have too 100% disagree with you [ModBlog] -
this is the Best. Windows. Tattoo. Ever.
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/carbonf/Mvc-02f.jpg
Why? Because it’s a slammin tattoo pattern first, the fact that it’s a windows logo goes unnoticed even by so-called technical programmer types.

That should look really good in about ten years, after the ink has faded and run together so it’s a big unreadable blob.

I am thinking of having my tattoed eyebrows removed by ruby laser.
What are the chances that the ink that was used on my tattoo contains titanium dioxide and the tattoe will darken instead of remove.
Any reply would be helpful.
