NASA Hates The iPhone
by Peter Ha on July 31, 2007

NASA would sooner launch the iPhone into outer space than issue them to astronauts according to meeting minutes from July 10. ODIN (Outsourcing Desktop Initiative for NASA) project manager, Jeff Stephens, deemed the iPhone unacceptable for NASA. Thanks Jeff, we weren’t sure if it was enterprise ready, but you’ve just reaffirmed our prior beliefs. Alert the masses! RIM and Palm are basking in the glory as BlackBerry 8800s and Treo 750s are the weapon of choice for America’s astronauts.

  • It’s because iPhones are difficult to use whilst driving a Space Shuttle drunk

  • wow, another moronic post! wtf? are you really that paranoid of disliking a product? do you have look for proofs elsewhere? can’t you just make up your own mind? wow, this place stinks!

  • As far as I know, all items going into space must be tested for creating hazards when in space. For example, if the iphone battery blew up/caught fire, it could create toxic smoke. Everything on board has to go through “off-gas” testing. Nothing personal against the iPhone…
