Do the hot keys work in Vista? I have seen keyboards that come bundled with new PCs that have volume and media keys that do nothing in Vista. If they actually worked this would be pretty cool - otherwise it's just another ergonomic keyboard and laser mouse.

I should add about the frequency of battery replacement: I purchased the rechargeable batteries and charger less than a year ago and I've had to recharge and replace them so frequently that the batteries are now dead and no longer hold a charge. And these batteries are only used in the keyboard and mouse, nothing else.

I have Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard and I disagree that there is no reason to have a wireless mouse or keyboard on the desktop. There are several reasons: the cables for your telephone, VoIP adapter, iPod charger/sync, printer, Airport Express and speakers. Now add +1 cable for the power pack for each of these, because the power pack is a separate section of the cable snake.

That being said, your point about it needed lithium/ion batteries and a charging dock are very well taken. I bought rechargeable AAs and a charger when I bought the keyboard and mouse and it's a good thing, because they go through batteries pretty frequenty, especially the mouse.

The main irritation I have with my Logitech wireless peripherals is that they frequently and for no reason just drop the connection to my iMac. Not very often with the mouse, but constantly with the keyboard and it is often very difficult to pair the keyboard back up again. The keyboard is detected but simply won't pair.
