XM-I has released the perfect speakers for the road warrior or anyone, really, that wants powerful speakers that are easy to travel with. The USB powered speaker features a vacuum chamber that when stretched out offers a subwoofer-like boom, boom, boom. There’s a built-in rechargeable battery with a retractable dual interface USB cable and stereo mini-jack connector. The on/off switch also doubles as a volume control. The X-mini Capsule speaker is currently available in Singapore for $32 and a red version is said to be coming soon.

Interesting looking design, but I will wait to see if it sounds as good as it looks.

How is the sound quality? Has anyone (readers) tried it? If you have, could you leave me a comment?
I’ve thrown away all my music gadgets, and now I only use PCs and http://www.tubejuke.com. A better speaker on my laptop would certainly be an advantage! :-)

My sister bought me one as a gift in Dubai or somewhere like that for about $35.00. It is awesome. I run it with my MP3 Player and Sony CD Player. I am still on the first charge of the battery (about 7 hours now). The speaker puts out sound loud enough to be heard when at full blast (with boost) in my Honda with the windows rolled down on the freeway. I am really impressed with the sound. It puts out better quality sound than my cheep amplified stereo computer speakers. One of the music students from the college I work at was impressed with the quality of the classical piece I played for him
The only thing that doesn’t seem to be of quality about this speaker is the cable. I’m thinking the cable is not going to last to long. If I can find parts I plan to buy another cable. before this one goes bad.. But the accordion hinge seems very reliable
