Why post something if you don't know what you are talking about?

My daughter just received this for her first birthday and I think it's pretty cool. There is a built-in speaker so no headphones are required. I think that's the best thing about this. You can load your own music and hear it without headphones or speakers attached. I haven't used it much since I just got it yesterday, but so far I think we'll get a lot of use out of it. It seems pretty sturdy so it can handle little kids, and it has a little handle so your kids can carry it around. It runs on batteries which I think is a good and bad thing. It's good because you can just grab it and go, and not worry about having to plug it in (like camping, at the park, beach, etc.) but of course, the batteries run out so you have to replace them. It does have an auto shutoff feature so you don't have to worry about it running for hours, although it would be nice if it worked overnight, but not absolutely necessary. Either way, I think this will be a great item and I think it will last a long time. It does come with some preloaded songs so you don't have to worry about downloading anything if you aren't too computer literate. You can play it right out of the box. I think overall it's a good product and I would recommend it.

"because at age 2, your kid probably can’t even understand words. And if you put headphones on your kid to shut him up at age 2, you’re probably a bad parent." You're offensive, but thanks for the news.

My son is not quite 2 and can talk in full sentences and has enjoyed music since he was born. I'm specifically looking for a decide like this, only I hope that there is a mini boom-box version since I don't want my son wearing headphones yet (and I doubt he would if I tried).

I already carries around the corded CD player for his room saying "sing with Raffi?" every morning. I want something he can't break easily (I've replaced the CD player twice in 3 months!)
